Javier Serrano-Puche is Associate Professor of Journalism and Vice Dean of Faculty at the School of Communication of the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain). He is also a researcher at the Center for Internet Studies and Digital Life at the same university. He has been a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE), thanks to a mobility grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (José Castillejo Program). His research combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies to examine socially relevant phenomena, contributing both to their conceptual understanding and empirical analysis. His current research lines include public perceptions of journalism and news consumption trends, media trust, digital misinformation, and the emotionality of the public sphere. His publications on these topics have appeared in journals such as the International Journal of Communication, International Review of Sociology, Comunicar, and El profesional de la información, and in publishing houses such as Routledge, Springer, IGI Global, and Palgrave, among others. He has been awarded two six-year research periods (2007-2012; 2013-2018) by the Spanish National Evaluation Commission for Research Activity (CNEAI). He serves on the editorial board of the scientific journals "Communication & Society", "Studies in Media and Communication", and "Review of Communication Research". He is a member of the Spanish Society of Journalism (SEP) and the Spanish Association for Communication Research (AE-IC).
