Résumé
The refractions studied by retinoscopy plus subjective adjustment and those obtained with an auto refractometer Canon R-10 on 100 children under atropinic cyclopleqia were compared. The limits of an acceptable accuracy were established in ±0.5 D for the spherical and cylindrical power and in 5° for the cylinder axis. The 78.5% of the spherical lenses, 71 % of the cylindrical and the 69.7% of the cylinder axis were within these limits. A tendency to overcorrect hypermetropic and un- dercorrect myopic eyes was observed. The precision of the auto refractometer was influenced by the intensity of the ametropia only in cases of hypermetropic astigmatismo The accuracy of the power of the spherical and cylindricallenses was greater in children aged seven years or more, while there was no differences in the cylinder axis.
