Resumen

Comparative study of activity and chemical composition of Perezia pinnatifida H&B Weedell (Asteraceae) vs Valeriana officinalis L. (Valerianaceae) and cremates ecotype vs dwelt of Lepidium peruvianum Chacón (Brassicaceae). Author: Sheyla Rehecho Pérez Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Navarra (Spain), 2011 The present study has centred on the extension of the knowledge of both activity and chemical composition of the medicinal plants Valeriana officinalis L. (Valerianaceae), Perezia pinnatifida H&B Weedel (Asteraceae) and the cremates and dwelt ecotypes of Lepidium peruvianum Chacón (Brassicaceae). There have been realized extracts of increasing polarity from the underground organs of the plants. For in vitro activity have been develope the following tests: - Antioxidant Activity by DPPH, ABTS , superoxide radical and ORAC methods. - Antifungal Antivity (Rhizopus stolonifer). - Antibacterial Activity (S. aureus, P. aeruginosa and E. coli by disc diffusion). - Antiacetilcholinesterase Activity by Ellman¿s method. - Cytotoxic and Cytoprotective Activity against oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide and capcity of inhibition of intracelular reative oxygen species (ROS) in cells PC12. - Cytotoxic Activity in cells DHD/Kprob12 and HCT116. - Inmunomodulatory Activity in primary culture of mouse splenocytes. There has been performance one in vivo study for the quantification of the protective effect of both hydroalcoholical extracts of Lepidium peruvianum against the neurotoxicyti induced by malonate. Chemical composition of the extracts has been studied using diverse chromatographic technologies such as OCC, TLC and HPLC-UV. The content in trace elements and elements plans (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Mn, Faith, Zn, Cu and) has been quantified by ASE and ASS. Content in Total Polyphenols has been quantified by Prussian blue method and finally, the content in polysaccharides has been quantified by the method of antrone. Many interesting results have been obtained that recently will be publish.
