Abstract

Traumatic diaphragmatic hernia is an uncommon complication that may occur in blunt thoracoabdominal trauma. They are more frequent in males and left side. The diagnosis can be missed in the initial evaluation. We present a case with a delayed right diaphragmatic hernia, which first symptom was an intestinal obstruction, due to colon volvulus in right hemithorax twenty months after blunt thoracoabdominal trauma.
