Abstract

"The Bishop and the churches in his diocese. Legal tutelage in its erection, relegation to profane but not sordid use, alienation and reuse in the diocesan framework". Keywords: church, relegation, alienation. The church as a building is a symbol of the history and life of the Church in its communities of the faithful. The building of churches, the disappearance of the person who has the title of the church (closure of parishes, etc.), the relegation to profane but not sordid use, the alienation or reuse of the same, are matters of the first order in the pastoral life of the dioceses. Canon law pays special attention to these issues and gives to the diocesan bishop an important canonical and pastoral role. This paper studies the role of the bishop in the various periods of life of a church and the relationship of the bishop with his faithful in the different procedures that give rise to these periods (building, relegation, etc.).
