Abstract
The architects of the avant-garde struggled in the first decades of the century to make homes in therms of efficiency, economy and functionality. It moved them, mostly social responsibility. Their achievements are now a heritage assumed by all, but some of them have been distorted; lost the social concern, some of them have been transformed into recipes, which adapt to the life of the new bourgeoisie, which in the present today is a huge part of the population, in the western countries; However, global growth and migration force a new one in what is really necessary, and in terms of solidarity; With it they return to a professional activity. From that point of view, the figures of Taut and Oud shine again, and they shine in works of recent invoice, of Siza and Rocha, that serve to show the validity of the principles, and the convenience of their application.
