Abstract

After the I World War the structure of the house and the design of its furniture was transformed, gradually approaching the modern shapes that permeated other public uses. Then a debate created in the house arises as one of the great issues, both abroad and in Spanish territory. In 1930 a group of architects managed to include new shapes in dwelling through the design of modern equipment that coexisted with other styles and adapted to new ways of living. This research, consequence of the study of the journals Arquitectura, Nueva Formas, Viviendas and Obras in the decade of 1930, on the one hand, offers a vision of this rich and transitional period, characterized by an eclectic modernity and, on the other hand, addresses the debate created about "Modern dwelling" in Spain, from the analysis of equipment strategies.
