Résumé

After the Civil War, an attempt was made by the victors to make Spain more homogeneous. Education, propaganda, ideology and culture were subjected to stringent control s with a view to creating an image and identity for the new Spain. One paradigmatic example is the case of Navarra, described here, in which the image provided by the prevailing political, ideological and social model, that of traditionalist Carlism, became widespread. The formation of an identity on this basis led to an attempt to mould the somewhat diverse reality of Navarra, which succeeded in the early years but which was the cause of tensions in the later decades.
