Abstract
The author describes the six altiora principia contained in Council Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium. These principles set the basis of liturgical theology: the Paschal mystery as the centerpiece of the liturgical celebration, the manifestation of the history of salvation in the liturgy, the rites and words as the constituent elements of worship, the importance of the Word of God in the celebration, the features of the liturgical assembly, the eschatological dimension of the liturgy.
