Resumen

Teamwork is one of the key competencies for the development of many professionals, specially, for future engineers. That is why this ability should be first defined in the curricula of these degrees and controlled and assessed afterwards. This article proposes a model that serves as a reference for understanding the factors and processes arising from the development of teamwork. Moreover this model goes with different tools which can be used to assess the degree of acquisition of teamwork competence by students through their studies. The model has been tested based on experimental data performed in Higher Education, although it can be adapted to any educational level where teamwork is defined as a key competence to developed by the students.
