Résumé
The article examines the geopolitical framework in which the operation Inherent Resolveis placed. Then the study analyses the legal problems arising from the mission, with particular reference to international legal standards on the use of force. Security Council’sResolution 2249 (2015) and its possible readings are then considered in depth. Finally,an interpretation of the aforementioned Resolution is provided in order to find its legalplace as it does not seem possible to frame it in either Chapter VII or in art. 51 of the UNCharter.
