Abstract
Authors perform a review of clinical symptoms and signs found in children with a suspicion for a syndromic diagnosis of sleep disordered breathing (SDB). Assessment of day and night SDB symptoms should enable a medical professional to a proper referral to specialist who will orient other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Moreover, authors analyze the main findings at physical examination that rise a reasoned suspicion for SDB. From the point of view of the oto-rhino-laryngologist the more reliable methods to evaluate lymphatic structures of Waldeyers ring (palatine and pharyngeal tonsils) are reviewed. As for the odontologic aspect, we will check the different dentofacial disorders that are expected to be seen in children with upper airway obstruction.
