Resumen
This research analyzes, from an intertextual point of view, some surprising statements regarding worship and the Temple that are made in Is 56:7. This verse where the Temple is shown as a House of Prayer mentions the worship that the non-Israelite nations would carry out. As there is no consensus on a method of intertextual analysis, this proposal is based on the contributions of different specialists. Therefore, the intra-biblical allusions surrounding this verse are shown firstly in relation to other passages in its closest context (the book of Isaiah); secondly, with passages from a larger context (the Old Testament); and thirdly, with passages in the context of the fulfilment of Gods promises (the New Testament). The texts investigated are not only the ones which the verse of Isaiah is alluding to but also the subsequent re-readings that are made of it (when this verse becomes an alluded text) to capture how its meaning has been modified or the way it has been adapted to other circumstances, acquiring new meanings in new contexts.
