Mary, grace and hope in Christ. Intercession and mediation of mary according to the Seattle statement

Resumen

"María, gracia y esperanza en Cristo. Intercesión y mediación de María según la declaración de Seattle" Este trabajo de doctorado presenta la investigación sobre el tema del concepto católico de la mediación e intercesión de María y su posteriori discusión en el diálogo católico-anglicano. El estudio se abre con una sección preliminar, que explica tanto la relación entre mediación e intercesión, como la mediación única de Cristo, y la dependencia del papel de María con el de Cristo. El autor inicialmente proporcionó dos capítulos que presentan la posición de la Iglesia Católica Romana y la Comunión Anglicana sobre la mediación e intercesión de María. En primer lugar, se presenta la historia del desarrollo de la teoría de la intercesión y mediación de María en la teología católica y su comprensión (capítulo I). Posteriormente se estudian las fuentes anglicanas para analizar y describir la posición de la teología anglicana sobre este papel de María (capítulo II). Conociendo la posición de ambas confesiones, el autor se centró luego en el diálogo entre ellas sobre la mediación e intercesión de María, y los frutos de este diálogo se recogieron en el documento María, gracia y esperanza en Cristo, también conocido como Declaración de Seattle (2005). El tercer capítulo presenta tanto la historia editorial de dicho documento, las declaraciones publicadas en la declaración, como la reacción teológica a los resultados publicados del diálogo. Intercession and Mediation of Mary according to the Seattle Statement The doctorate research presents the issue of the Catholic concept of the mediation and intercession of Mary and later discussion about it in the Catholic-Anglican dialogue. The thesis opens with the preliminary section, which explains both the relationship between mediation and intercession, and the dependence of Mary's role in the unique mediation of Christ. The author initially provided two chapters presenting the position of the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion towards the mediation and intercession of Mary. Firstly, the history of the development of the theory of the intercession and mediation of Mary in Catholic theology and its understanding are presented (chapter I). Later, it has been made studies of Anglican sources to analyse and describe the position of the Anglican theology in the role of Mary (Chapter II). Knowing the position of both confessions, the author thenfocused on the dialogue between them on the issue of Mary's mediation and intercession, and the fruits of this dialogue were included in the document Mary, Grace and Hope inChrist, also known as the Seattle Statement (2005). The third chapter thus presents both the editorial history of the said document, the statements published in the declaration, and the theological reaction to the published results of the dialogue.
