Resumo

Die Untersuchung der Appellation im Mittelalter erweist sich als besonders komplex, verursacht durch die Vielfalt der Rechtsordnungen, die nebeneinander bestanden: Neben dem Kirchenrecht (ius canonicum) standen die verschiedenen Rechtssysteme der einzelnen Völker und Nationen. Deshalb soll hier versucht werden, diese Institution bereichsweise zu behandeln und dabei soweit wie möglich auch die wechselseitigen Einflüsse zwischen den verschiedenen Rechtsordnungen zu berücksichtigen.
