Abstract

The Industry 5.0 plan aims to guide technology towards decarbonizing the European economy and calls for a profound change in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) due to their low investment in R&D and poor digitalization. This work focuses on how employees can influence an adaptive response to this change. After analyzing the demands of technological changes on employees, a model of a “resilient and transformative company” is proposed. This model aims to impact competitiveness, sustainability, well-being, and employee retention by acting on dimensions such as collaborative culture, team coordination, employee involvement, and self-efficacy, which will activate the resilience and transformative capacity of the company
