Abstract
Due to their structure, elastomeric compounds have several industrial and daily life applications; however, the manufacture of these materials with their application and durability in mind complicates their recycling and reprocessing once they are no longer useful. Techniques such as regeneration and devulcanization of these wastes turn them into an industrially attractive material and can be used as ingredients to manufacture new products. Therefore, it is important to have several simple techniques to evaluate the efficiency of devulcanization, understanding the physical and chemical mechanism that will also allow improvements and optimizations such as the use of different devulcanization agents, as well as knowing the influence of various factors that are involved in the rubbers to be devulcanized, such as their composition and content of fillers and additives. These improvements, techniques, and devulcanization aids will enhance the current processes by obtaining homogeneously and selectively devulcanized materials without compromising their mechanical properties and final application
