Résumé
Nietzsche sees in the Italian Renaissance (represented by César Borgia) the great lostopportunity for the affirmation of man; but for the German philosopher that occasionwas wasted with the appearance of Luther who again denied any positive value toman. But the Spanish Renaissance (represented here by Cisneros and Vitoria) is a trueaffirmation of the human nature because of its trust in reason and freedom.
