Abstract

Crises are complex phenomena, of diverse nature, most of the times unavoidable and whose management is very complicated. Therefore, to facilitate the management process, a comprehensive analysis of the potential impacts that may result as a consequence of a crisis has to be conducted. This paper discusses various methodologies that are currently used for impact classification, to subsequently make a constructive criticism about the difficulties that those classifications present. Finally, recommendations for improving the process of crisis impact classification are given.
