Abstract

Politrauma patients are one of the most significant causes of death worldwide. Differents philosophies have evolved to approach their treatment. Damage control, Early Total Care, Early Appropiate Care and, recently, PRISM. However, It must not to establish strict criteria en every patient. In recent years, Early Appropiate Care and PRISM have taken advantaged, based on individualized treatment, continual reevaluations and resuscitation measures. Three parameters have been described to take surgery on consideration: lactate <4mmol/L; ph> 7.25 and base excess > -5.5mmol/L.
