Resumen

This paper deals with the analog transceiver of a BTM (Balise Transmission Module), part of the ERTMS/ETCS (European Railway Traffic Management System / European Train Control System). It briefly explains the ERTMS/ETCS system and the location of the transceiver inside the BTM, and describes the noisy environment of the rail track. In order to fulfill the specifications of the BTM architectures for both the transmitter and receiver are proposed. The different kinds of modulations to be transmitted are studied pointing terms of the required bandwidth. The proposed transmitter and receiver have a gain of 36dB and 21dB respectively.
