Résumé

Small cell neuroendocrine tumors in the base of the tongue are extremely rare and typically carry an unfavorable prognosis. Only 10 cases have been reported in the literature to date. The scarcity of studies limits our understanding of this condition, resulting in a lack of standardized management. We describe the case of a patient who developed small cell carcinoma at the base of the tongue six years after receiving radiotherapy for a squamous cell carcinoma at the same location.
