Jaume Aurell (saurell@unav.es) is Professor of Medieval History at the Department of History at the University of Navarra (Spain). His main research subjects are medieval and modern historiography, 20th-century historians’ autobiographies, Mediterranean Merchant Culture, and Medieval Coronations. He is a member of the Research Group "Religion and Civil Society", at the ICS (University of Navarra). His publications include: What is a Classic in History: The Making of a Historical Canon (Cambridge University Press, 2024); Historians Autobiographies As Historiographical Inquiry: A Global Perspective (Cambridge University Press, 2024); Genealogies of the West (Anthem, 2023); Medieval Self-Coronations. The History and Symbolism of a Ritual (Cambridge University Press, 2020); Theoretical Perspectives on Historians' Autobiographies: From Documentation to Intervention (Routledge, 2016); Authoring the Past: History, Autobiography, and Politics in Medieval Catalonia" (The University of Chicago Press, 2012); La escritura de la memoria, de los positivismos a los postmodernismos (Universitat de València, 2017); Genealogía de Occidente. Claves Históricas del Mundo Actual (Pensódromo, 2017).
