Graduate (1984) with MSc (1985) and PhD (1988) in Chemical Sciences from the University of Oviedo. Postdoctoral stay (1988-1990) at Dublin City University. Interim Associate Professor (1990) and Associate Professor (1991-1993) at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Associate Professor at the University of Vigo (1993-1999), on voluntary leave due to incorporation at the University of Navarra (1999). Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry since 2015. Research stays at Cornell, USA (1992) and Liverpool, UK (1994). Secretary (1994-1999) and Head of Department (2000-2007), Patron of the University Foundation (2001-2006), Vice-Dean of the School of Sciences (2001-2007), President of the Commission for the Degree in Chemistry (2009-2024). 4 six-year periods of research awarded by the Chemistry Committee of CNEAI, (1989-1994; 2002-2007; 2008-2013; 2014-2019) plus 2 six-year period of research awarded by UNAV (1995-2000; 2014-2019).
