José L. del Pozo is the current Chair of the Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department at Clínica Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain, and a Full Professor at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Navarra. He trained in Pamplona (Clínica Universidad de Navarra) and Madrid (Hospital Ramón y Cajal), and completed an Infectious Diseases Fellowship in the USA (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN). He has a particular interest in biofilm-associated infections, multidrug-resistant (MDR) organisms, antimicrobial resistance, and healthcare-related infections. He is a member of the Healthcare-associated Infections Study Group of the Spanish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He has authored over 180 publications, with his current research, as part of the Microbial Biofilms Study Group, focusing on the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for biofilm-related infections
