Doctor by the Universidad de Navarra with the thesis Diseño y validación del instrumento competencia de educación para la salud del profesional de enfermería 2019. Supervised by Dr. Navidad Canga Armayor, Dr. M.I. Pardavila Belio.
I am a Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Navarra (Spain). My teaching is focused in Community Nursing and Evidence-Based Nursing. I currently serve as Vice-Dean for Students at the same faculty. I am a researcher in the “Nursing Care Research” group at the Health Research Institute of Navarra (IdiSNA), and in the “Innovation for Family and Community Health Promotion” group at the University of Navarra. I hold a PhD in Nursing Science at the University of Navarra (2019). I have completed two international postdoctoral research stays: at the University of Stirling (Scotland, 2023) funded by the Mobility grant from the University of Navarra, and at Linköping University (Sweden, 2025) funded by the José Castillejo grant for early-career researchers. My research focuses on health promotion and behavior change related to risk behaviors across different populations, through the design, implementation, and evaluation of brief/nursing interventions. In recent years, I have expanded my work to include the development of digital interventions. I am also interested in nursing education and competency development, as well as in the psychometric evaluation of measurement instruments. I have supervised one PhD dissertation on health promotion and prevention of risk behaviors among university students, and I am currently supervising another focused on the design and evaluation of a nurse-led educational intervention for women with breast cancer starting treatment. I have published more than 28 scientific articles, authored 2 book chapters in SAGE, and co-authored 2 teaching materials for the European project INSTrUCT (Erasmus+), which developed an open digital educational resource for training in brief smoking cessation interventions. I have, in total, 7 funded projects by competitive and other grants. My work has been recognized with four awards for best conference presentation and a runner-up prize in the “Enfermería en Desarrollo” awards for a supervised doctoral thesis. I am a member of the working groups of the International Network on Brief Interventions for Alcohol & Other Drugs, with a particular interest in youth, alcohol use, and digital interventions, the "Asociación de Enfermería Comunitaria", and the "Sociedad Científica Española de Estudios sobre Alcohol, el Alcoholismo y otras Toxicomanías".
