Villagrán Sánchez

Álvaro Villagrán Sánchez (Jaén, 1997) has a degree in Journalism from the Universidad de Navarra and a master's degree in Rhetoric and Public Speaking from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. He is currently pursuing his Ph. D. in Communication at the Universidad de Navarra thanks to a scholarship from the Asociación de Amigos. His academic research focuses on the changing nature and boundaries of journalism, with special attention to its ethical and epistemological underpinnings. To this end, he draws on theoretical approaches from the sociology of knowledge, epistemology, and philosophy of science. In particular, his dissertation explores the characterization of journalism as both a professional ideology and a form of knowledge. He also teaches Journalistic Writing and Rhetorical Communication to undergraduate students.
