Resumo
Cernudas years in Great Britain (1938-47) constitute a highlight in the history of mutual influences between Spanish and English literatures, an eventful period that allowed the poet to adhere to the great trunk of a modern poetical tradition that had not formerly developed in Spain. Cernudas attempt may be somewhat failed or partial in many of the pieces he wrote during those years, but gave birth to a cluster of meditative poems that open a new path in his own work and in Spanish poetry.
