Abstract
Anxiety towards mathematics creates a series of inadequate concomitant behaviours and emotions which condition those students who suffer from it in relation to the maths teachers, the execution of activities and exams related to the subject or decisions as regards future studies (Sarabia and Iriarte, in press ; Pérez-Tyteca, Castro, Segovia, Castro, Fernández and Cano, 2009). In this contribution we offer the results obtained from the application of a program for overcoming anxiety in relation to mathematics (Program PAM, Iriarte and Sarabia, 2010) to 51 students between 6 and 23 years old. Results are offered about 1) the causes of anxiety towards mathematics in these students, 2) the changes produced after the application of the program and 3) general valorations given by the students who took the program.Key words: anxiety towards mathematics, affective domain, program assessment, primary education, secondary education.
