Abstract
Salvador de Madariaga worked as Director of the Disarmament Committee in the League of Nations during the years 1921-1927. The failure of collective disarmament in the previous years to World War II and the coming of a new order in the internacional policics during the Cold War, based in realism statesmanship, downgraded the imporcance of disarmament in the interwar years historiography. In this article we shall survey Madariaga's main ideas for world disarmament and the foundation of a new internacional order based in the League of Nations as an answer to the "internacional anarchy" -as Madariaga called ir- during the interwar years.
