Doctor by the Universidad de Zaragoza with the thesis Contribución al estudio del discurso referido en un corpus oral del español americano 2018. Supervised by Dr. María Antonia Martín Zorraquino.
María José Gallucci holds a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Zaragoza and is an assistant professor in the Department of Philology at the University of Navarra (UNAV). She was a lecturer and researcher at the Language Department of the School of Letters of the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and at the Institute of Philology "Andrés Bello" of the same institution, as well as at the Romanisches Seminar of the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, where she completed a doctoral research stay financed by the DAAD. She has been principal investigator and co-investigator in several projects on Caracas speech funded by the Council for Scientific and Humanistic Development of the UCV within the framework of the "Proyecto para el Estudio Sociolingüístico del Español de España y de América" (PRESEEA). She is currently a member of the Research Group on Orality (UNoral), co-directs the PRESEEA-Pamplona and coordinates the Writing Center of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAV. Her studies are mainly focused on variationist sociolinguistics and discourse analysis. Her current line of research is oriented towards the study of polyphony in spoken Spanish.
